IN YOUR CLASSROOM

The Moment a Class Goes Quiet

There’s a moment in every classroom when students realize the image forming on screen isn’t a video or a simulation — it’s a telescope in the Canary Islands, pointing at the real sky right now, because they told it to. That’s when space stops being a chapter in a textbook and becomes experiential learning. Slooh gives every student that moment — no equipment and no astronomy background required.

BUILT FOR TEACHERS

Add Space Exploration To Your Class With Turnkey Implementation and Nothing Extra to Grade

Slooh records every Observation and Quest your students complete, so you always know who’s engaged and where they’re stuck. Planning, assessment, and progress monitoring are built into the platform, freeing you to do the part only a teacher can: spark the curiosity.

Educator Guides for Every Quest
Learning objectives, discussion prompts, and answer keys come ready to use. No prep marathon, no astronomy degree, no scrambling the night before.
Watch Student Growth
Automatic Progress Tracking
See at a glance which students completed which Quests and observations — engagement data and standards alignment, without the grading pile.
Easy to Use
Runs in Any Browser
Laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, phones — if it has a browser, it works. Nothing to install, configure, or maintain.
FAQs
Do I need an astronomy background to teach with Slooh?

Not at all. Every Quest includes an educator guide with learning objectives, discussion prompts, and answer keys. Slooh is designed so any teacher can lead Earth and space science investigations — even if you've never used a telescope.

How does scheduling work? Do students need to observe during class time?

Telescopes run 24/7 across three sites in the Canary Islands, Chile, and Australia. Students can schedule observations any time — during class, after school, or on weekends.

Which grade levels is Slooh appropriate for?

Slooh supports grades K–8, starting with guided, teacher-led experiences in K–2 and building toward independent student exploration from grades 2–3 onward.

Slooh in action

Discover the Universe Together

On Slooh, curiosity is the activity. Students can point real telescopes at the Moon, the planets, and distant galaxies, then share what they discover with the whole community — just like Grayson did here. Every "Did You Know?" is a chance for a learner to ask a big question, capture their own image, and become the one teaching the rest of us something new.
Young Explorer
Did you know?
Did you know that the Moon was Formed on the earth then got detached into orbit. About 4.6-4.0 Billion Years ago a Mars sized planet crashed into the earth then a chunk of molten lava and rock flew off and started orbiting. It has since molded into an almost perfect circle for our view.

Curriculum

Standards-Aligned Guided Learning Activities

Quests are Slooh's NGSS-aligned, guided learning activities. Students use real scientific instruments to observe the universe and the Earth, guided through investigations with embedded assessment and built-in progress tracking for teachers.
Elementary (Grades 3-5)
Foundational space concepts. Solar System, Moon phases, patterns in the sky.
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Earth-Sun-Moon system, seasons, eclipses, constellations. Standards-aligned investigations.
Earth Science (Grades 5-9)
Satellite observation of rivers, craters, weather, geological features. Remote sensing from orbit.

OBSERVE THE EARTH

Slooh Earth Science

Real-world Earth science using satellite feeds — your students see hurricanes form, glaciers retreat, and cities light up the night, in the same images real scientists use.
Observation of the eruption at Piton de la Fournaise
Satellite Feeds of Earth
Earth Science curriculum with satellite feeds provided by SkyFi. Students observe rivers, weather patterns, and geological features from orbit.
Standards-aligned Curriculum
Alignment with 5th- through 9th-grade Geology, Geography, and Environmental Science standards.
Real-world Relevance
Students see how satellite imagery is used right now to track weather, watch coastlines change, and understand our planet. They also learn about jobs that use these data.
Careers in Space

Space Isn't Just for Astronauts

The space industry needs engineers, communicators, data scientists, policymakers, and artists. Slooh's Career Discovery program shows you paths you didn't know existed — and the badges to prove you're building real skills.
Space Situational Awareness
Track satellites, space debris, and spacecraft. The world's defense agencies and commercial operators need people who can do this. Roles: Orbital analyst, conjunction assessor, space traffic controller
Satellite IT & Operations
The infrastructure behind every GPS signal, weather forecast, and internet connection from space. Someone designs, launches, and maintains all of it. Roles: Ground systems engineer, payload specialist, mission operations
Citizen Science & Research
Discover asteroids. Monitor variable stars. Contribute real data to real scientific databases. You can start doing this now — not after college. Roles: Research assistant, data analyst, observatory technician
The Slooh Gravity Awards

Earning Recognition: Gravity Awards & Student Portfolios

Slooh automatically builds a record of every student's exploration. For students, it's a growing journal of everything they've discovered. For teachers, it's engagement data and progress tracking that practically runs itself.
K-8 Leaderboard
Gravity Points & Levels
Every Quest and observation earns points. Students level up — visible progress that's tangible and fun.
Badges & Leaderboard
Specific achievements unlock badges. The class leaderboard adds friendly competition without extra work for you.
Gravity Awards
Outstanding exploration earns Gravity Awards — badges that travel with students into middle school, high school, and beyond.
Hear from Slooh Teachers

What Educators Are Saying About Slooh

Teachers around the world are using Slooh to bring real science into their classrooms — without needing an astronomy background, a budget for equipment, or a single clear night.

“[Slooh] has enriched my space teaching while introducing students to astronomy. The online telescopes enable students to explore and analyze more than 1,000 real-world space objects and events right from their own computers.”

Nicollette LeTellier — Swift Water Elementary School

“The Quests are well laid out [so] I don't review them ahead of time, [I] just choose a Quest that Slooh describes as a good choice for beginning and matches my students' interest.”

Theresa Rodriguez — Teacher of the Gifted (Grades 4–5)

"86% of elementary and middle school students said Slooh increased their interest in Science."

K-8 Slooh Case Study

Why Teaching Astronomy is Crucial to Elementary STEM Education

Elementary school teacher and STEM specialist, Nicollette LeTellier believes it is crucial to introduce space education into the STEM curriculum for students at a young age. She focuses on teaching her students space concepts in a way that engages them in hands-on and interactive learning.

Slooh for Districts

Everything a District Needs to Say Yes

Slooh deploys across schools without new hardware, new logins, or new risk — and gives leadership the data to prove it's working. Here's what district adoption actually looks like.
OUTCOMES-BASED CONTRACTING
Pay for Engagement, Not Shelfware
Deploy district-wide at low upfront risk, then scale against real student usage. Your contract grows where adoption proves out — not before.
DATA PRIVACY & TRUST
Student Data, Handled Right
Built with FERPA and COPPA in mind, with clear policies on what we collect and what we never do. Our Trust Center documents privacy, security, and compliance in plain language for your review.
LMS & ROSTERING
Drops Into the Tools You Already Use
Single sign-on and roster sync with the systems your schools already run — so teachers don't manage another login and IT doesn't manage another headache.
WELLBEING & SEL
Wonder Is a Social-Emotional Skill
Awe, focus, and shared discovery aren't side effects — they're outcomes. Slooh gives students a calm, collaborative space to slow down and connect, in and beyond science class.
STUDENT GROWTH & LEADERSHIP
From Curious Student to Ambassador
Engagement data tracks every student's progress automatically, and the most invested explorers step into leadership through the Gravity Guild — guiding peers and building skills that outlast the unit.
DISTRICT VISIBILITY
See Adoption Across Every School
Administrators get a district-level view of engagement and standards coverage — the proof points that justify expansion and satisfy the board.
