Slooh Research accounts provide access to the telescopes and research-grade CCD cameras located at Slooh’s northern and southern hemisphere observatories.  They include access to advanced telescope control and scheduling, specialist astronomical catalogs, and advanced data acquisition and processing options.
Australian Observatory
Launching in mid 2024, Slooh's new Australian observatory will extend Slooh's live coverage to 24 hours per day. The observatory, located a stone's throw from the world-class Siding Spring Observatory, will house a new research-grade Half Meter telescope.
Chile Observatory
Slooh’s southern hemisphere observatory, in partnership with the Catholic University, features three telescopes offering complete coverage of the rich southern skies.
Designed for Research Astronomy
Canary Islands Observatory
Slooh’s flagship observatory features six telescopes and is situated at 9,000 feet at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, home to the largest optical telescope in the world. The time zone shift makes daytime astronomy possible in the United States.

Slooh’s Graduate Research accounts provide access to Advanced Missions (choosing telescope, date, time, by catalog or coordinates), all 18 of Slooh’s astronomical catalogs, and advanced processing options including luminance filter-only.  They include five standard and one advanced mission scheduled at any one time.  This enables students to conduct basic astrometry and photometry (using standard filters).

Professional Research Accounts

Slooh’s Professional Research accounts provide access to Advanced Missions (choosing telescope, date, time, by catalog or coordinates), all 18 of Slooh astronomical catalogs, and advanced processing options including luminance filter-only and photometric filter options. The advanced mission quota is increased to five at any one time.  This enables students to conduct advanced astrometry and photometry.  Low-resolution spectroscopy will be added in 2025.
